clinging to anonymity
A collection of creative memories
by Christopher J. Kemper

If you drop Clinging to Anonymity into a vat of literary milk it will float right to the top (like premium cream - not like one of those loose, floating turds). It will make you laugh, think, chuckle and snort, and then it will run out and pick up your drycleaning. It will even help you cover up that little embezzlement thing you got going at work, and will never tell anyone what you have stashed in the bottom drawer of your nightstand. So buy it already. And just because I was raised an Orthodox Liar doesn’t mean you shouldn’t believe me.

Writing Clinging: After a spree of academic fun at Stanford University and the University of Oregon School of Law, Mr. Kemper landed a job with a company in Silicon Valley. His life as a corporate attorney ended fourteen months later, killed by yet another traffic jam and the constant fear that his death certificate would list “Boredom” as the cause. Writing short, comical stories based on personal experiences sustained Christopher through those bleak months cogging the corporate wheel. During his stint behind a desk he distributed embellished tales via email to an ever-expanding group of friends and family. The stories consistently received rave reviews. Five years later Mr. Kemper finally decided to take a hiatus from adventure to sit down and write. The result is Clinging to Anonymity, a book-length collection of short stories, each stuffed with intelligent humor and philosophical insight.

Clinging is an autobiofictional account that is heavy on tangents and full of creative offshoots that enhance rather then muddle the laugh-out-loud impact. The stories evoke flashes of Sedaris with the addition of creative fiction. Whether it is a love affair with Beer School or running a marathon on a whim, the (mostly) clean, sharp content is an kick-ass collection that you will enjoy!
